Disney’s ‘Tron 3’ Begins Director Search

Over the weekend, our friends over at The DisInsider revealed an update on Disney’s Tron 3. The upcoming sequel to Tron: Legacy was announced in 2017 with Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) set to star in the film titled Tron: Ascension. The movie was then put on the back burner so it’s unknown at this point if Jared Leto will indeed stay on for the film.

Now according to a recent report, a director search has begun for the upcoming sequel. However, Disney is considering bringing back Joseph Kosinski to helm the sequel. It should be noted that several other directors have met about the project already. The report also mentions several actors from Tron: Legacy may return for the upcoming sequel as well. Finally, the report mentions Daft Punk may return to produce the music for the film.
