Today, Walt Disney Studios announced that a Lilo & Stitch 2 live-action movie is now in development. This comes as no surprise given the original live-action movie is closing in on $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Like most live-action remakes, the film received some minor criticism, including the portrayal of Nani giving up Lilo to live in foster care, as opposed to the animated film, where she keeps Lilo. As well as the diminished role of Cobra Bubbles and the complete absence of Captain Gantu due to budgetary reasons. Hopefully, these two will have much larger roles in the upcoming sequel. It’s unknown if Maia Kealoha and Sydney Agudong will return as Lilo and Nani.
