Director Jon. M Chu Tapped To Helm a ‘Hot Wheels’ Live-Action Movie

Director Jon M. Chu has been hired to helm the upcoming Hot Wheels live-action movie.

Today, a report announced that director Jon M. Chu has been hired to helm the upcoming Hot Wheels live-action movie. The film is currently in development by Mattel and Warner Brothers after their massive success with their other property in 2023’s Barbie. Chu is coming off multiple smash hits, including 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians and 2024’s Wicked. Creed II screenwriters Juel Taylor & Tony Rettenmaier have been tapped to pen the script. The plot is under wraps but aims to capture some of the high-octane racing fans who enjoyed both the Fast & Furious franchise and the F1 movie. No casting has been announced yet.
