Original Game Director Neil Druckmann Steps Away From HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Season 3

Original game director, Neil Druckmann, announced he will be stepping away from working on HBO’s The Last of Us season 3.

Today, the original game director, Neil Druckmann, announced he will be stepping away from working on HBO’s The Last of Us season 3. Durkaman joined the live-action adaptation as co-showrunner alongside writer Craig Mazin. In a statement, the game director reveals he has loved working on the show but needs to focus on more game titles at developer Naughty Dog. It should be noted that The Last of Us 3 has yet to be announced, but has been rumored to begin casting earlier this year (via DanielRPK). Mazin will continue as showrunner and write every episode of the next 2 seasons.
