Today, a brand new report from Paramount Pictures has revealed that the studio has several different Transformers live-action projects in development. This comes as a bit of a shock considering Hasbro has ceased co-financing any future projects following the disappointing box office returns of last year’s Transformers One. The report has revealed that the long-in-development Transformers/G.I.Joe crossover movie is still in the works following the events of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The director of Transformers One, Josh Cooley, is working on an untitled live-action project for the studio.
The report also reveals that director Michael Bay is also working on a live-action project after departing the franchise following 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight. He approached the studio last year to possibly return and brought on Jordan VanDina to pen the script. Two other untitled projects are also in development, but the involvement of those involved is unknown. However, Blue Beetle director Ángel Manuel Soto was once attached to a film in 2021. It would be interesting if the studio comes to Bay to direct the Transformers/G.I.Joe crossover movie given his affinity for the US military in his films.
No future Transformers movies currently have a release date
