Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Disney is fast-tracking their long-in-development film Tron 3. The film was initially titled Tron: Ares and was described as a spin-off from Tron: Legacy, but it is now a direct sequel. The new film will star Jared Leto in the lead role. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Rønning takes over directing duties from Garth Davis (Lion).
