Today, a report announced that actor Andrew Richardson will star as Anárion in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3. He was already announced as part of the cast back in June in an unknown role. Richardson is best known for starring in The Independent and Ponies TV series. Anárion (along with Celebron) has been completely absent from the Second Age TV series throughout both initial seasons.

Many fans wondered whether they were entirely omitted from this retelling, but thankfully, we were given brief references to each character in season 2. He has been referenced as sailing somewhere off the coast of Númenor during the first two seasons. Anárion is the youngest son of Elendil (played by Lloyd Owen) and brother to Isildur (played by Maxim Baldry). The series also introduced an original middle sister, not from the books, named Eärien (played by Ema Horvath). Production on season 3 was completed several months ago in the UK. The streaming service has yet to confirm the actor’s role and should be treated as a rumor until further notice.
The Rings of Power return to Prime Video sometime in late 2026
