Today, a new rumor suggests that Prime Video may film seasons 4 and 5 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power back-to-back. This comes as season 3 is only months away from being released on the streaming network. There will be a time jump this time around as we are put directly into the middle of the conflict of The War of the Elves and Sauron of the Second Age. The final two seasons will have a lot to cover, including the Fall of Númenor, the rise of Gondor & Arnor in Middle-earth, and finally The Last Alliance of Elves and MenPrime Video already officially announced that season 4 would begin production soon. The rumor says filming will begin this fall, though it was previously rumored to start in early 2027. It would make sense to film the final two seasons, though the studio has yet to announce it and it should be treated as a rumor.

The Rings of Power will stream exclusively on Prime Video
