Today, Prime Video hosted a full Hall H panel for its upcoming third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The panel was slightly smaller than in years past, with only a few cast members present alongside showrunners J.D Payne and Patrick McKay. The panel was pretty much scripted and moderated by star Benjamin Walker. However, it did reveal some major plot points throughout the upcoming season. They also featured a behind-the-scenes look at the creatures of the upcoming season and the first teaser trailer.

It is revealed that Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers) won’t immediately be able to forge The One Ring, and it will take him the entire season to accomplish it. The reason being he had just killed the greatest craftsmith in Middle-Earth 5 years prior, Celebrimbor (played by Charles Edwards). The biggest reveal is that he will seek out the dark wisdom of a Balrog (revealed to be voiced by Simon Pegg) on how to forge the Ring in the Cracks of Doom. We will also see the first fall of the nine evil Kings of Men at the height of their power, as previously announced. They will be called Nazgnagôl in the series, which translates to “Ring Servants” before they eventually become the Nazgûl or “Ringwraiths.”

During the 5-year time jump, we also learn that Celebron has been trying to get back to Galadriel ever since season 1. His absence was a major point of concern for fans, as they are a couple all their lives despite many shipping her with this version of Sauron. The biggest cheer from the Hall H crowd was the introduction of Jamie Bower Campbell (Stranger Things) in this highly coveted role. It’s unknown if he had been captured all this time and presumed dead by Galadriel.
