Today, HBO announced that Billy Barratt has been cast as young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter season 2. This comes after many online fancast Owen Cooper (Adolescence) in the role since 2025. Barratt is best known for the horror film Bring Her Back. They also announced that Lenny Rush (A Woman of Substance) will play the ever-lovable Dobby the House-Elf using CGI. As well, Bonnie Hill (Girl Troop versus Aliens) has been recast as Ginny Weasley after original actress Gracie Cochrane exited the series following season 1. Ironically, Ginny was also played by a “Bonnie” in the early-2000s films, by actress Bonnie Wright. Production is now underway on season 2 back in Leversden, UK.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will stream on HBO & HBO Max in late 2027
