Amazon Studios Secures Rights To A ‘Tomb Raider’ Rebooted Movie and TV Series

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Amazon Studios has landed the rights to the Tomb Raider video game franchise. They are looking to make the franchise into a full cinematic universe spanning a new film, TV Series, and video game that will all be interconnected.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been brought on to pen the scripts for the television series. The last film of the character came in 2018’s Tomb Raider, starring Alicia Vikander as the hero Lara Croft. Vikander was going to return for a sequel with Misha Green attached to direct before the character rights went up for sale.
