Legendary Developing a ‘Pacific Rim’ Prequel TV Series

Today, a report has announced that Legendary has entered a first-look deal with writer Eric Heisserer on an upcoming Pacific Rim TV Series. The series will be an origin story set before the first film’s events, directed initially by Guillermo del Toro. Heisserer, alongside Carmen Lewis, will develop several projects for Legendary under their Chronology production banner. Heisserer is known for developing Shadow & Bone for Netflix and writing 2017’s Arrival. It’s unknown if he is showrunning this series or just producing. His wife, Christine Boylan, is currently showrunning Avatar: The Last Airbender for Netflix.
