RUMOR: DC Comics Developing a ‘Black Canary’ Project

Fans have been over the moon with the portrayal of Black Canary in 2020’s Birds of Prey by Jurnee Smollett (Lovecraft Country). Many have hoped she would return for a future installment even though Birds of Prey failed at the box office. Now Daniel Ritchman revealed on his Patreon that DC Comics is discussing a possible Black Canary project. It’s unknown if Jurnee Smollett will return for the role in a spin-off or it will be a reboot of the character. It’s also unknown if the project is a film or series set for theatrical or HBO Max release.
