Screenwriter Misha Green Will Pen DC Comics ‘Black Canary’ Feature Film

Several days ago, we at Knight Edge Media had gotten word that a Black Canary project was in early development for DC Comics. Now our friends over at Cinelinx revealed today that Lovecraft Country showrunner Misha Green will re-team with star Jurnee Smollett on the film. She has been hired to pen the script for the studio.

Green recently also was tapped to write & direct the upcoming Tomb Raider sequel. The film is expected to be tied into 2020’s Birds of Prey but will debut on HBO Max alongside Batgirl and Blue Beetle.
