RUMOR: Hayden Christensen May Return as Anakin Skywalker in the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Disney+ Series

Obi Wan Anakin ROTS Kenobi Series

Today, LRM revealed that Hayden Christensen is currently in talks to return to the Star Wars universe. According to their sources, Hayden Christensen has been in talks with Lucasfilm and Disney to return as Anakin Skywalker for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series starring his former co-star Ewan McGregor. This comes off a recent resurgence of love for the character thanks in large part due to The Clone Wars animated series. Which fleshed out the character of Anakin far beyond the live-action films.

Obviously, on the timeline, Anakin has since become Darth Vader so it’s interesting the report mentions Anakin appearing in the show. It’s entirely possible due to his exile on Tatooine; Obi-Wan Kenobi has a flashback or dream sequence of his former padawan Anakin before he becomes Darth Vader. This would make sense considering Obi-Wan would feel entirely responsible for the rise of the Empire and the purge of the Jedi Order. For it, all happened under his watch.

It would be nice to see the studio bring back Liam Nesson as force ghost Qui-Gon Jinn. The actor returned to voice Qui-Gon in The Clone Wars animated series which is canon. He also returned to voice Qui-Gon Jinn in The Rise of Skywalker while speaking to Rey in the climax. Seeing him return to speak to the exiled Obi-Wan could also be a great addition to the series.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will stream exclusively on Disney+
