Andy Serkis Boards ‘The Batman’ as Alfred; Colin Ferrell in Talks as ‘The Penguin’

Today, it was announced that Lord of the Rings star and Venom 2 director Andy Serkis has boarded Matt Reeves upcoming Batman solo film as Bruce Wayne’s trusty butler Alfred The Wrap reports. It was also revealed later by Deadline that a completely left-field pick but Fantastic Beasts & Dumb star Colin Ferrell is in talks to play The Penguin in the upcoming film after Jonah Hill passed on the role. They would join Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon

The Batman hits theaters June 25th, 2021
