‘Game of Thrones’ Alum Robert Aramayo Replaces Will Poulter in Amazon’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ TV Series

Today, Variety announced that actor Robert Aramayo has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings TV Series. He is set to replace Will Poulter (Midsommar) who had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. Aramayo is most known for playing young Ned Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

It was rumored that Will Poulter was up for the role of a young Elrond as the actor looked very much like original Hugo Weaving but that was never confirmed. The show is being developed by JD Payne and Patrick McKay. It will also take place thousands of years before the War of the Ring during The Second Age.

The Lord of the Rings will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime
