Recently, a report announced that British actor Robert Aramayo is expected to play Elros in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3 after already playing Elrond. Our friends over at Fellowship of Fans learned that Elros will appear in a flashback during the production of season 3 on the Prime Video series. Elros was the twin brother of Elrond and the first king of Númenor. Elros gave up his immortality as an elf to become a mortal human, like Arwen does many years later. For his sacrifice, he and his descendants were blessed with an extra-long life, living to be about 500 years old. It makes sense to simply have Aramayo play both roles in a few scenes instead of casting someone else. Production on season 3 has already been completed in the UK.

The Rings of Power returns to Prime Video sometime in late 2026
