Today, a new report announced that singer André 3000 has joined the cast of Netflix’s Scooby-Doo Origins live-action TV series. André 3000 has appeared in several films like Four Brothers and Semi-Pro. The report also states actress Cathy Moriarty (Casper) has joined the adult cast of the series. The official synopsis reads,
“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy (Hagen) and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma (Fortson), and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy (Jenkins), they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
The teenage cast includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and McKenna Grace as Daphne Blake. Paul Walter Hauser (Fantastic Four: First Steps) is also expected to appear in the series as Scooby-Doo’s original owner before Shaggy. Production was underway earlier this year in Vancouver.
