Today, we at Knight Edge Media have learned that a casting call has gone out for the upcoming Twilight reboot animated series. The reboot animated series was first announced back in 2023 by Lionsgate and Netflix, but this time it is told from the perspective of Edward Cullen (previously played by Robert Pattinson). The casting call is looking for voice actors of Edward’s rival Jacob Black (previously played by Taylor Lautner) and his father, Billy Black:
[ JACOB BLACK ] – The character is male, Native American, sounds like a young teen. Please submit adults to play teen. Vocal quality should be youthful, inviting, and cheerful, exuding a happy-go-lucky demeanor with a husky tone. Jacob’s youthful innocence makes him relatable and endearing. He has developed a budding crush on Bella. As the son of Billy Black, a Quileute tribal elder, he has a strong connection to his family and culture…This character speaks with an American accent. [ BILLY BLACK ] – The character is male, Native American, sounds and appears to be in his late 40s to 50s. Vocal quality should exude kindness and wisdom. A prominent Quileute tribal elder and close friend of Bella’s father, Charlie Swan. He is deeply devoted to his son, Jacob, and is under significant stress and pressure to protect him and his community from escalating vampire conflicts. He serves as the bridge between the Quileute culture and the outside world…The character speaks with an American accent. RECURRING (V.O.)
The series is currently titled Midnight Sun, and the series logline reads, “Midnight Sun is a dark tale of the struggles of immortal love, told from the perspective of a vampire (Edward Cullen). It explores the consequences of Edward’s relationship with Bella, a 17-year-old human girl, and the dangers they both face as they fall in love.” Recording begins this August and runs through May 2027 in LA. Sinead Daly is set as showrunner on the project.
