Today, a report announced that Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries has been tapped to star in DC Studios’ upcoming film, Clayface. Harries is set to play the Matt Hagen version of the character. The DCU Batman-adjacent film has been in development for a while, dating back to the previous leadership at DC. However, the film was shelved until original writer Mike Flanagan met with new DC Studios co-head James Gunn on reviving the body-horror project. Screenwriter Hossein Amini took over writing from Flanagan’s original draft. Matt Reeves is producing, but the film is not expected to be part of his Batman universe. James Watkins will direct the movie.
