Today, during Walt Disney Studios’ quarterly investor meeting, the studio giant announced a slew of changes coming to the company. The changes included a $1.5 billion dollar stake in Epic Games (the gaming studio behind Fortnite), and ESPN is developing its own streaming platform separate from ESPN+ to hit sometime in 2025.

The studio also revealed they have been secretly developing a sequel to 2016’s animated film Moana. The studio is still committed to developing a live-action remake of the original film, which is still slated to begin filming sometime this year but was paused during last summer’s SAG-AFTRA strike. However, this new film will still be animated and is already ready to be released this winter. The film was originally going to drop on Disney+ but will be released theatrically like Lilo & Stitch. It’s unknown if the original voice actress Auli’i Cravalho will return to the role alongside Dwayne Johnson as Maui.
