Today, Amazon announced that eight more actors have joined the ensemble cast of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2. The new cast members include Oliver Alvin-Wilson (The Bay), Stuart Bowman (The Pact), Gavi Singh Chera (The Undeclared War), William Chubb (Vampire Academy), Kevin Eldon (Game of Thrones), Will Keen (Ridley Road), Selina Lo (Boss Level), and Calam Lynch (Bridgerton). Production is currently happening now in the United Kingdom instead of New Zealand.

Deadline adds that the upcoming season is expected to introduce the rest of the Ringbearers of the Second Age, including the Dwarven Kings and the fallen Nazgul. The origin of the Witch King of Angmar has been a hot discussion amongst Tolkien fans. The only known history of his life before falling to Sauron is he was a man of Numenor. He would become Sauron’s most trusted and deadliest servant throughout the Second Age and into the Third Age.

Fans have wondered how will Halbrand (revealed to be Sauron in disguise) will return to Celebrimbor of Eregion to help forge the remaining Rings. As the elves are now aware, they were tricked by Halbrand all along. An online rumor suggests (via Twitter) that Annatar is set to appear in season 2, played by another actor instead of Charlie Vickers. While the rights of Annatar to appear in the show are in question. It would make sense that Sauron would shapeshift again into another form to return and complete what he had started as Halbrand.
