Today, on the Marvel Studios Spoiler Reddit, a post revealed that comedy actor Sacha Baron Cohen has joined the Ironheart series on Disney+ as Mephisto. While Reddit typically doesn’t have any accurate concrete information. The story was shared and corroborated by MyTimeToShine and Lizzie Hill of The Cosmic Circus as being accurate. We at Knight Edge Media were also informed the story was accurate. MyTimeToShine even revealed that the studio was looking at Giancarlo Esposito for the role but ultimately passed. The upcoming Ironheart series is expected to blend tech and mysticism into the show, including the villain The Hood (played by Anthony Ramos) and now Mephisto. It’s unknown if this will lead to the rumored Ghost Rider reboot project later on.

Mephisto is a demon from an alternate dimension, sometimes referred to as the Marvel Universe’s version of Satan though he isn’t. He takes Johnny Blaze’s soul to become the Ghost Rider, is a herald to Thanos, and even tries to abduct Wanda’s twins at one point. Many fans thought he would appear in WandaVision in 2021 though the character was never ultimately mentioned. The character appeared in both Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, played by Peter Fonda and Ciarán Hinds.
