During the Sony Pictures panel event at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, several upcoming projects were announced for exhibitors and spectators. The studio announced they plan on moving forward with yet another Venom sequel starring Tom Hardy. The character made a brief appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before being sent back to his universe following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. There was a fan movement that Andrew Garfield’s version of Spider-Man faces Tom Hardy’s Venom in the Sony universe, but it’s unknown if that will ever be considered.

The studio also announced a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife is also in development with director Jason Reitman. The semi-reboot/sequel was released last November and met with massive praise from classic fans and new fans alike. The film even saw the return of original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson.
