CinemaCon 24′: Lionsgate Announces ‘Monopoly’ Live-Action Movie With Producer Margot Robbie

Today, during the Lionsgate CinemaCon presentation, a brand new Monopoly live-action movie was announced based on the popular board game. The studio announced it has teamed up with actress Margot Robbie to produce the film under her LuckyChap production banner. Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara have joined Hasbro Entertainment as producers as well. Hollywood has tried multiple times to get a Monopoly film off the ground with a version originally announced by Kevin Hart and director Tim Story (Fantastic Four). Lionsgate is trying to capture lighting a bottle again after WB worked with Robbie on a Barbie live-action adaption last summer. No writer or director has been attached to the film.
