RUMOR: Ryan Reynolds Wants Channing Tatum & the ‘Fantastic Four’ In ‘Deadpool 3’

Today, our friend Daniel Ritchman revealed on his Patreon that Ryan Reynolds is courting actor Channing Tatum for a role in Deadpool 3. Tatum and Reynolds have long been friends and appeared together in 2021’s Free Guy with Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy. This comes after Reynolds convinced Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine for the film. Obviously, the first suggestion would be for Tatum to finally portray the character of Gambit in a Fox X-Men movie. The TVA from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also expected to have a large role in the film with Owen Wilson rumored to return.

Earlier this year, during the press tours of Dog, Tatum revealed how close he came to making his solo Gambit movie before it was ultimately canned during the Disney-Fox merger. He even admitted he would be up to co-starring in an X-Men team-up film if Disney ever asked him instead of flying solo. It’ll be interesting to see if Deadpool 3 is the last hoorah for the Fox Universe films (Like No Way Home was for Sony). Another Deadpool rumor suggests that 2005’s Fantastic Four cast may also appear in this mega-sequel, which would be hilarious to see Chris Evans return for the role of Johnny Storm and not Steve Rogers. Ironically, the Fan4stic cast of 2015’s Fantastic Four almost appeared in Deadpool 2 when Tim Miller was still attached as the director.

Deadpool 3 hits theaters on November 8, 2024
