Today, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds released a statement regarding his absence from the recent D23 event in California. The video announcement reveals that he has been hard at work developing a story that will integrate Deadpool from the Fox Universe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with director Shawn Levy. The announcement also revealed that Ryan finally convinced Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine following his last appearance in 2017’s Logan.

We at Knight Edge Media revealed that Jackman was approached to cameo in Doctor Strange 2 in 2020 but turned it down, presumably because he was done with the role. Though now, it could have been because the rumored scene included another Wolervine death at the hands of Wanda Maximoff. Nevertheless, Hugh Jackman is set to co-star as Wolverine once again but now in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool 3 will finally hit theater September 6th, 2024
