Hugh Jackman is expected to return as Wolverine in Avengers: Doomsday following the events of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Over the last week, a multitude of Avengers: Doomsday leaks began pouring out, including the AVATAR: Fire and Ash teasers and supposed candid character portraits with their new suits. A new rumor began circulating that a behind-the-scenes image exists with Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and, surprisingly, Tobey Maguire as Wolverine, Deadpool, and Spider-Man. We knew producer Kevin Feige had always wanted a Hugh Jackman/Tobey Maguire team-up scene since the early 2000s. So this team-up sequence is not very surprising. However, due to the events of Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool is also along for the ride.

We at Knight Edge Media were already told that Tobey Maguire is indeed in the film as Spider-Man and is rumored to have a fully CGI suit. He is also the only Spider-Man variant to appear in the movie at the time of writing. Ryan Reynolds was also kinda confirmed to return when he began teasing The Avengers logo on social media in August. Now, John Rocha on The Hot Mic podcast has confirmed Hugh Jackman will appear as Wolverine and share screentime with Tobey Maguire. Jackman already began a workout regimen back in early June and shared it on Instagram. They have already completed their filming sometime in August. It should be noted that we at Knight Edge Media have been told this information is accurate, but we have not verified the leaked image of the trio that has been circulating. Until Marvel Studios announces them, it should still be taken as a rumor.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated to hit theaters on December 18th, 2026
