Ron Perlman Will Voice Optimus Primal in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’

Today, Collider announced that former Hellboy actor Ron Perlman has been tapped to voice Optimus Primal in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The film is expected to be the next installment in the Transformers franchise after Bumblebee and not the previous Michael Bay films.

The film is set in the 1990’s and follows the Beast Wars storyline including the introduction of Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons. Creed II director Steven Caple Jr. is set to direct the film. It will see the return of Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime. As well as introduce new hero protagonists played by Anthony Ramos (In The Heights) and Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah).
