Today, a new report announced that the upcoming Power Rangers live-action TV series will not move forward on Disney+. The series was in the works for several years at Netflix before moving over to Disney+ under showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz (Percy Jackson, The Old Man). However, Disney has since decided to kill the project for budgetary reasons, not “creative differences” with the creators. The streaming platform didn’t find a massive sci-fi superhero series a viable option for an IP they don’t own and only license from Hasbro. The duo signed an overall deal with Disney, so they will try to produce more projects for them.
