Today, a report announced that directing duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are developing a new Star Trek movie. This comes on the heels of Paramount’s recent announcement that the long-in-development Star Trek 4, starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, has been scrapped entirely (via Variety). The film never really gained traction as a reality after the sudden death of star Anton Yelchin in 2016. However, in 2022, the studio tried announcing the film before any of the actors were even signed on at a Paramount Investor Day event. That obviously never materialized into anything. Nevertheless, Daley and Goldstein are set to write and direct the film under their GoldDay production banner. The duo is best known for directing Game Night, Vacation, and, most recently, Dungeons & Dragons.
