Today, Netflix officially announced the full cast for its upcoming animated feature film, Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory. It is expected to be a reimagining of Roald Dahl’s classic Willy Wonka story. As it follows Willy Wonka years after leaving prison for turning a little girl into a blueberry. Kit Connor (Heartstopper, X-Men) stars as Charlie Paley, and Taika Waititi (Thor: Love and Thunder) stars as the magical chocolatier Willy Wonka. The rest of the cast includes Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls), Charithra Chandran (One Piece), Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death), Christopher Chung (Slow Horses), Kate Winslet (The Hunt for Gollum) & Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown). Netflix is also giving the film its biggest theatrical run before debuting on the streaming platform. It will be released theatrically on November 5th, 2027, and then on Netflix on December 22nd.
