Today, a report announced that Australian actor Toby Wallace is the first actor to join the long-in-development Assassin’s Creed TV series for Netflix. His exact character is currently unknown, but he is expected to be a co-lead of the series. He will not be playing any known character from the video game franchise, as this series will be completely original (like the film was).

Production on the series begins in spring 2026 in Italy. Though it is filmed in Italy, it’s unknown whether that is the exact time period the series takes place in, which would be during Ezio’s time from the video games. Roberto Patino and David Wiener are set to showrun the series.

Assassin’s Creed has no set release date on Netflix
