Today, Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios held a special panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender. While most of the panel was a look back at the original series that debuted in 2005, they did end with a few surprises. Mike & Bryan confirmed once again that The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender animated movie is still slated for release on October 9th, 2026. They displayed the previously released logo for the attendees. They also confirmed they will be returning to SDCC next summer to promote the movie.

Surprisingly, they also openly discussed their next animated series, Avatar: Seven Havens. The series follows the events of The Legend of Korra. They revealed the first image, which features Avatar Pavi and her airbending partner Jae outside Elora City, as we exclusively reported in December of last year. They don’t speak at all about Pavi’s twin sister, Nisha. In the series, she will also bend all four elements, like Pavi, and both believe they are the “one true Avatar,” as this has never happened before. Pavi is much more timid, while Nisha is much more outgoing and aggressive. As the viewer, we are led to believe that, for the first time in history, there are two Avatars, and the main plot of the series is: “How did this even happen?” And both embark on a journey to discover their mysterious twin origins and the circumstances surrounding Avatar Korra’s death.

Avatar: Seven Havens is expected to debut on Paramount+ sometime in 2027
