Today, Warner Bros. and HBO officially announced that up-and-coming British actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout have been cast in the upcoming Harry Potter reboot TV series. After an extensive open casting call, these actors won the roles of the three lead heroes, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
The roles were made famous in the early 2000s films by actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. These young actors are expected to play these ironic roles from the novels over the next decade, as each season will cover a different book in the saga. The first season will follow the story of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Francesca Gardiner has previously announced to be the showrunner of the series alongside director Mark Mylod. Production is set to begin later this summer in Leavesden, UK.
Harry Potter will stream on HBO and HBO Max sometime in 2027
