CinemaCon 25′: Sony Pictures Kicks Off Event With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’

Sony Pictures kicked off CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas with their upcoming slate of movies including Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Last night was the first panel for CinemaCon 2025. The yearly event brings studios and exhibitors together to showcase their upcoming theatrical slate of films. Sony Pictures kicked off the annual event with their upcoming slate of movies. There were many minor movies shown, including I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel starring Freddie Prinze Jr. They also showed footage for Karate Kid: Legends following the events of Cobra Kai on Netflix, and once again confirming The Legend of Zelda is coming in 2027. The highlight is the ambitious Beatles 4-part biopic event, which will showcase a whole film of each Beatles member. The cast was announced and brought on stage, including Harris Dickinson (Babygirl) as John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Gladiator II) as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (The Batman) as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) as George Harrison. Every film will be released in April 2028 by director Sam Mendes.

Finally, the studio turned to their golden prize, Spider-Man. Producer and writer Chris Miller revealed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will hit theaters on June 4th, 2027. Production has been turbulent in getting the final film in the fantastic animated trilogy off the ground. However, they did bring some footage for exhibitors, which featured Miles Morales meeting Gwen Stacy once again after the events of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Miller released some images online following the panel’s conclusion of the film (via Twitter).

Director Destin Daniel Cretton came on stage to unveil the first information about Spider-Man 4. The director introduced Tom Holland, who had a video message for the exhibitors, as he is still filming The Odyssey in Greece. The Spider-Man actor revealed that the film’s subtitle has dropped “home” from the name, indicating this is a brand new trilogy. The latest movie will be titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The title was actually leaked in October in a Production Weekly listing, stating that Andrew Garfield and Robert Downey Jr. will appear as Peter Parker and Doctor Doom (via Twitter). However, they have yet to be confirmed. Cretton said they are in full pre-production mode as filming will begin later this summer after Marvel Studios is done filming Avengers: Doomsday. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters on July 31st, 2026.
