Today, a report announced that director James Watkins has been tapped to direct the upcoming Clayface live-action movie from DC Studios. Writer Mike Flanagan has been writing the script for years but can’t direct it due to his commitments to another Exorcist film. Watkins is most recently known for his English adaption of 2024’s Speak No Evil, starring James McAvoy. He has long been linked to the Clayface movie after the success of Speak No Evil. DC co-chief James Gunn met with Watkins Thursday for a final presentation, which landed him the job. No casting has been announced, but production is expected to begin later this year.
