Today, a new report announced that actor Mason Gooding will return from Scream 5 and 6 and appear in Scream 7 as Chad Meeks-Martin. This comes as a bit of a shock, considering Scream 7 was expected to be more of a sequel to the original films, not the rebooted Scream 5 starring Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) is also joining the cast in an unknown role, as is actor Asa Germann (Gen V). They join the previously announced Neve Campbell as Sydney Prescott. Courtney Cox and Patrick Dempsey have long been rumored to return but have not signed on.
