Today, a report has revealed that Danny McBride, Jeff Fradley, and John Carcieri will pen the upcoming Booster Gold TV Series. The trio of writers are behind the HBO comedy The Righteous Gemstones. The new series was confirmed back in 2021 during the original DC Studios announcement under James Gunn and Peter Safran:

Next up is a TV series called Booster Gold. Booster Gold is one of comic’s really popular cult heroes. He is a fascinating guy. He’s a loser from the future who uses future technology to come back to present day and become a superhero so that people will love him. It is basically the superhero story of imposter syndrome on an HBO Max series.

Many fans have long cast Nathan Fillion as Booster Gold, though the actor has also been cast as the Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, in the upcoming DC Universe. It’s also unknown how this series will connect to Blue Beetle, as the original Blue Beetle has often teamed up with Booster Gold in the comics. Blue Beetle may be soft rebooted since Xolo Maridueña has already been confirmed to return as Jamie Reyes.

Booster Gold has no set release date
