Last year, we at Knight Edge Media got word that the spirit Koh the Facestealer would make an appearance in the live-action Netflix series. The news was confirmed in September 2022 when Netflix announced George Takei would voice the evil spirit. The announcement also revealed that Randall Duk Kim was also reported to voice the spirit Wan Shi Tong from the secret spirit Library. Now Daniel Ritchmen has revealed on his Patreon that the destructive yet tender spirit animal Hei Bai will also appear in the series.

In the original show, Hei Bai destroys a local town after a forest is burned down for construction. He meets Aang several times in the spirit world after Aang brings peace to the town. Hei Bai also never speaks like other spirits. It looks as if the Netflix show will indeed introduce multiple spirits as compared to The Last Airbender film that featured a talking dragon. It’s still unknown if Aang will transform into koizilla (the Ocean Spirit) in the climax, like in the original series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender will stream exclusively on Netflix
