Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 3 Writers Room Features The Return of Emily Kim

Today, we at Knight Edge Media have learned that the writer’s room is currently underway writing season 3 of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. Showrunner Christine Boylan revealed on Instagram to be in LA helping write the series’ final season as pre-production of season 2 is ongoing in Vancouver. Many of the same writers from season 2 and a few from season 1 will return for season 3. They include Keely MacDonald (Sleepy Hollow) and Gabriel Llanas (Supergirl) from season 1.

The returning season 2 writers for season 3 include Helen Shang (The Rings of Power, Welcome to Derry), Teresa Huang (SEAL Team), Phinneas Kiyomura (Twisted). Finally, comic book writer Emily Kim (Quantum Leap) is also expected to return for the final season. She co-wrote the best episode of season 1, “Masks.” She is also the daughter of original showrunner Albert Kim before he departed for Disney. Production is expected to begin sometime next summer after season 2 completes filming in Vancouver.
