Today, 20th Century Studios announced that production on the next Planet of the Apes film will begin next month. The film will indeed be a continuation of War for the Planet of the Apes but not include the main protagonist Caeser (Andy Serkis). It will now be titled Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
The film will star Owen Teague (IT), Freya Allen (The Witcher), and Peter Macon (The Orville) from director Wes Ball (The Maze Runner). With a screenplay was written by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and Patrick Aison (Prey). 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell adds:
