Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Marvel Studios has put into early development Captain America 4. This comes off the season finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+. Where Sam Wilson (Played by Anthony Mackie) finally takes up the mantle of Captain America from old man Steve Rogers. The show seems to set up a sequel season with The Thunderbolts. However, the show could instead lead directly into Captain America 4. Showrunner Malcolm Spellman and staff writer Dalan Musson will be returning from the series to pen the film’s script.

Chris Evans was recently rumored to be appearing in a future MCU film as Steve Rogers once again. However, Deadline has reported that these will be two separate projects. Popular fan theory would be Chris Evans returns as Captain America from an alternate timeline (i.e HYDRA-Cap) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Which still would keep his version of Steve Rogers dead following the events of Avengers: Endgame.
