Up-and-Coming Actress Jayme Lawson Lands Role in ‘The Batman’; Could She Be Barbra Gordon?

Today, Collider has revealed that recent Juilliard graduate Jayme Lawson has landed a role in Matt Reeve’s upcoming Batman solo film. The actress is so new she doesn’t even have an IMDB page yet but recently signed with UTA.

The report claims its an important role. And with the recent ethnic swapping Matt Reeves has done by casting Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon It’s entirely possible Lawson could end up playing Barbra Gordon in the film.

UPDATE: According to io9, Lawson is playing a character named Bella, “a grassroots political candidate running for office in Gotham.”

The Batman hits theaters June 25th, 2021
