Directing Duo Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett Developing New ‘Scream’ Film

Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter announced that directing duo Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have been tapped to direct a new Scream film. The classic 90’s horror films created by Wes Craven that poked fun at slasher cliches. Craven last directed Scream 4 in 2011 before his passing and then franchise moved to television on MTV. The upcoming duo made a  new for themselves with last year’s thriller Ready or Not. They will be developing the upcoming film for Spyglass Media Group. It’s unclear if this will be a reboot of the franchise or a continuation of 2011’s Scream 4.
