Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Netflix, alongside Legendary Pictures, is in early development on an English-language live-action movie of the anime My Hero Academia. The original manga debuted back in 2014 and was eventually developed into an anime in Japan.

For superhero fanboy Izuku Midoriya (aka Deku), being born without a quirk makes him almost give up his dream of going to U.A. High School, the most prestigious hero training academy. But after a chance encounter with the legendary All Might, Deku starts on the road to become the greatest hero.

The film is yet another anime-based adaption Netflix has developed over the years, including Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, and next year’s One Piece. Obi-Wan Kenobi writer Joby Harold is set to pen the film’s script for Japanese director and producer Shinsuke Sato.
