Today, we at Knight Edge Media can exclusively announce that actors Rohain Arora and Jon Ray Dy Buco have joined Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender TV Series in minor roles. We have hinted on Twitter at the two actors joining the cast for some time, but it’s still unknown how significant their roles will be. It is also unknown if they will play an established character from the original animated series or newer characters for the show.

Rohain Arora is best known for his roles in another Vancouver production on The CW’s Superman and Lois. His casting also confirms that this version of Avatar: The Last Airbender will include actors of South Asian descent compared to the original series. We at Knight Edge Media revealed in December that the streaming service was looking for an older South Asian actor in the role of King Bumi. It’s unlikely Arora is King Bumi considering they were looking for a much older actor in his 40s. He will appear in multiple episodes by various directors on the show.

Finally, Jon Ray Dy Buco is a newer Filipino-Canadian actor with no major acting credits but has a background in singing and dancing. He will appear in episodes 3 or 4 of the series by director Jabbar Raisani. Again, unknown what character he will be playing in the series. He could be up for the role of Jet as he would appear in the middle of season 1 but considering the actor is well into his 20s that is just pure speculation. Production on the series will wrap in mid-June on the live-action series.
