FX’s ‘Shogun’ TV Series Taps Hiroyuki Sanada & Cosmo Jarvis As Leads

Today, Variety announced that both Hiroyuki Sanada & Cosmo Jarvis have been tapped as the lead roles in FX’s upcoming Shogun TV Series. Hiroyuki Sanada recently was seen in this year’s Mortal Kombat and Army of the Dead. As well as making appearances in The Wolverine, Avengers: Endgame and 47 Ronin. Cosmo Jarvis is best known for his role in Netflix’s Peaky Blinders.

Set in 1600’s Japan. A bold English adventurer. An invincible Japanese warlord. A beautiful woman torn between two ways of life, two ways of love. All brought together in an extraordinary saga of a time and a place a flame with conflict, passion, ambition, lust, and the struggle for power.

The series will be based on the Bestselling novel and was announced to be in development back in December during Disney’s Investor Day presentation. We at Knight Edge Media revealed the network was looking to court Sebastian Stan for the lead role of Blackthorne but the role has since gone to Jarvis. We also revealed that casting had begun for Lord Toranaga and Lady Mariko. Sanada will take on the role of Lord Toranaga while the network searches for their Lady Mariko.
