A surprise rebranding was announced today during Warner Bros. Discovery’s Upfront event. After only two years, the studio announced it would rebrand its MAX streaming service to HBO Max. In 2022, shortly after David Zaslav took over Warner Bros. as CEO, he wanted to remove the HBO branding from all streaming services moving forward. As the current streaming service has already changed names multiple times from HBO Go to HBO Now to HBO Max since the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. While a headscratcher to revert to HBO Max, it seems to be on course for anything happening at WB. HBO Max will be updated across all TVs this summer for the rebrand.

Lord of the Rings, DC Comics and Harry Potter is streaming on Max today
